Terms of Service
Last updated: February 21, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Ask it ("the Service"), available at askit.cloud, or by creating an account or signing in — including through a third-party provider such as Google — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Univated LTD ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the Service.
2. Description of Service
Ask it is an AI-powered analysis tool that generates derivative insights from publicly available YouTube video content. The Service provides AI-generated summaries, chat functionality, clickbait detection, key takeaways, and other analytical features.
Ask it operates as a tool provider. We provide the technology and platform; you decide which content to analyse. The Service does not display raw transcripts — it produces AI-generated derivative analysis only. We do not create, curate, or endorse any of the underlying video content you choose to analyse.
3. User Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
To access certain features, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete registration information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Each person may maintain only one account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must only submit publicly available YouTube videos for analysis. You must not submit private, unlisted, or restricted videos. You must not redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the AI-generated analyses without our prior written consent.
By submitting a video URL for analysis, you warrant that you have the right to access and analyse the submitted content. You are solely responsible for the content you choose to analyse and any consequences arising from that analysis.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Univated LTD and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Original video content remains the property of the respective content creators and rights holders. AI-generated analyses produced by the Service are transformative derivative works created for informational purposes.
6. Content & Copyright
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that any content accessible through or generated by the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request to [email protected] with the following information: identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the infringing material, your contact information, and a statement of good faith belief. We reserve the right to remove or disable access to any infringing content and to terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers for transcript retrieval, AI processing, Google OAuth authentication, and the YouTube Data API. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of any third-party services. Your use of the Service is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. Changes or interruptions to third-party services may affect the functionality of the Service, and we shall not be liable for any such disruptions.
8. Data & Privacy
We collect the following personal data: your name, email address, hashed password, and OAuth account links. The Service uses cookies for session management, appearance preferences, and sidebar state. We store video metadata and AI-generated summaries associated with your account. For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. If you delete your account, all associated data (including saved videos, analyses, and chat histories) will be permanently deleted.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or errors. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any analysis produced by the Service. You acknowledge that AI outputs should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Univated LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service shall not exceed the total fees you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred pounds sterling (£100), whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Univated LTD, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, the content you submit for analysis, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service for cause, including violation of these Terms, with reasonable notice where practicable. Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, and 14 shall survive any termination of these Terms.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Your continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. If you are a resident of the United States, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections under your state of residence.
15. Contact
